Our Design Process

01

When you decide on a kitchen or bath remodeling project, your first call should be to Kitchen and Bath Depot. We’ll start by getting the basic information about your project.

02

Once we’ve gathered some basic info from you, we’ll then set up a home visit. During this visit, we’ll take measurements and get some photos of the space. If you have ideas about how you’d like to change the layout of your space, we’d love to hear about them during this home visit, as it helps us create your new kitchen or bath design.

03

Getting started with the design

With complete measurements and photos in hand, we’ll head back to our shop and hand everything over to our design team. Our designers to work up an estimate, draw up floor plans, note any opportunities for changes or improvements in the design, and then write up preliminary specs that go over what the estimate includes.

04

When the design and estimate are ready, we’ll invite you back to our showroom. Our designer will review the plans in detail with you, talk about any changes you might want, go over cost and budget. We’ll also take you on a tour of our showroom during this visit, so you can get an idea of the products and amenities available in the price range you’re aiming for.

05

Securing your place on the schedule

Once you’re happy with your custom kitchen or bath design and you’re comfortable with the estimated costs, it’s time to get you on our schedule! We’ll require a deposit, typically around $2,500, to secure your place on our schedule.

Choosing the perfect products

06

With your spot reserved on our construction schedule, we can move on to the exciting part—picking out all the beautiful products for your new kitchen or bath! We’ll guide you through the process of selecting all the materials, door styles, products, hardware, fixtures. We’ll give you advice on storage solutions, help you identify where your money is best spent, and talk through any last-minute changes you might be considering.

07

Sign on the dotted line

When you’ve selected the perfect materials and products for your new space, we’ll finalize all the details, draft a full contract that includes our final pricing, and present everything to you for review and signature. We’re always happy to go over the contract with you and make tweaks as needed. We ask that you only sign the contract when you are absolutely comfortable with the design, products and materials, and budget.

Measure twice, cut once!

08

Your design is ready, materials selected, and contract signed—now it’s time for a trip back to your home to do another set of measurements to ensure everything is correct. During this visit, our project manager will assess your space and confirm all the plans are in order.

09

Placing orders

The project manager’s go-ahead means we can then start ordering the products for your new kitchen or bath. Different manufacturers and suppliers have different lead times, but our team is experienced in placing the right orders at the right time, so supplies and materials show up when they need to.

Taking inventory

10

Just before starting your project, our project organizers will take a full account of all the products and supplies, ensuring everything we need to successfully complete your project has been ordered and received.

11

Ready, set, go!

It’s time to get started! Once all the boxes on our design process list have been checked, our project manager will schedule your project start date, coordinate when supplies and products need to be delivered to your job site, and book plumbers, electricians, and trash removal.

Once we reach the end of our design process checklist, our team of professionals will begin construction on your new kitchen and bath. And just like during the design process, you’ll be kept up-to-date and informed during the construction phase of your project.

Throughout our 30-years in the kitchen and bath remodeling business, we’ve learned open lines of communication are essential to the success of any remodeling project. We’re always available to answer your questions, address any concerns, and listen to your ideas.
