National Kitchen & Bath Association Planning Guidelines
No one wants a brand-new kitchen with appliance doors that bump into cabinet doors, or an island so close to the wall that it can’t be used for dining. Good space planning will help you develop the best layout for your kitchen, so take the time to read this condensed version of the NKBA guidelines.
The Work Triangle
The dominant geometric shapes in most kitchens are the four-sided variety, from rectangular cabinetry to square appliances. But it is a triangle— albeit an imaginary one —that has always been an important element of a kitchen’s
design and functionality.
Kitchen Granite
Countertops Add Real
Value to Your Home
Granite is an igneous rock, once molten and formed and cooled deep inside the earth. Some types of granite can
look very similar to marble.
Granite is believed to be second only to diamonds in
its hardness. Kitchen granite countertops are becoming increasingly popular because
of this unbeatable toughness. Granite is a durable stone that requires little maintenance and can be highly polished or finished in a variety of ways.
